Manuscript on paper, in a single secretary hand, of a collection of about 13 pieces of Puritan instruction and advice, as well as 2 original religious poems. Entries include Rules Concerning Reading; excerpts from William Perkins' Golden Chain on "predestenation and Creation"; excerpts from Richard Rogers' Garden Of Spiritual Flowers, including "twelve steps which a man may strive towards heaven"; and several "short devotions for the daily exercise of a Christean both on the sabboth day & also on the week dayes." The manuscript also includes two poems by Lullay: a religious meditation on the dangers of "sluggish sleep" titled A Godly Medetation To Be Had In Mind At Our Going To Bed; and another titled The Solace Of The Soulle.
